GSCM Group, supported by Equistone, strengthens its position in rolling shelters with the acquisition of Daudin
Less than 3 months after its acquisition by Equistone Partners Europe ("Equistone"), GSCM ("Groupe Solfab Constructions Modulaires") completes the acquisition of the family-owned company Daudin Remorques ("Daudin"), specialised in the manufacture of rolling shelters.
Based in Cléry-Saint-André, Daudin designs and manufactures rolling shelters for moving works as well as specific trailers, the Group’s historical activity. As recruiting and retaining talent is increasingly challenging in the Building and Public works sector, high-end rolling shelters help to improve employees’ working conditions and therefore contribute to their comfort and loyalty.
The company was founded more than a century ago in the French region of Centre-Val de Loire and was acquired by the Jagu family in 2008. Its success relies on a team of 60 employees which designs and manufactures high-end and custom-made equipment for a diversified and loyal customer base. For the fiscal year 2021, Daudin is expected to achieve revenues of over €15m.
This acquisition will enable GSCM to strengthen its existing position in the dynamic rolling shelters market. The group already has a significant presence in this market through its subsidiary CNSE, based near Lyon. The rolling shelters activity will complete its fast-growing main activity of manufacturing and installation of modular buildings. The dynamism of the modular market is driven by the intrinsic characteristics of this type of construction: short building times and limited construction costs. Moreover, the reusable nature of the modules perfectly meets the objective of the new RE2020 environmental regulations.
This acquisition is the first milestone of an ambitious external growth strategy led by Mr. Eric Aurenche and supported by Equistone Partners Europe.
